Church History

In 2007, the Lord spoke to Pastor Fred and commanded him to start New Image Christian Ministries. Based upon Second Corinthians 3:18; But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. After much prayer and fasting, God's Word was confirmed.

On August 23, 2007, Bible studies were held at Pastor Fred and Phyllis' home with six people in attendance. On October 28, 2007, New Image Christian Ministries church service was birthed. Over 50 people attended the first service. Official services began at 11:00am at the Courtyard Marriott located on Hearon Circle in Spartanburg, SC. The youth ministry was birthed while at the Courtyard. The youth church service was at 10:00am. The Bible studies currently called "Kingdom Focus" were then moved from Pastor Fred's home to the Days Inn on Highway 290 in Duncan, South Carolina on Wednesday evenings.

By the first anniversary, the church embarked upon its first expansion and relocated to 8007 Warren H. Abernathy Highway in Spartanburg, South Carolina in the Westview Plaza. Upon moving to our new location, "Taking It to the Streets Outreach Ministry" was birthed. We would go into poverty stricken areas to show love and to speak life. "Taking It to the Streets" provides food and supplies to those in need. Other ministries that have been birthed included the New Brothers, New Sisters, New Marriage, Benevolence, and the College Fund Ministry. God has continually proven His faithfulness in provision and multiplication of this ministry. In light of His favor and grace, God has shown us that we are more than ready to conquer what lies ahead. We are now positioned to possess the land, and fulfill the purpose, destiny and vision God has given us.
